For years I’ve seen the Yoga classes and the fun that takes place in Runyon Canyon, in the Hollywood Hills, but have never joined in.  Runyon Canyon Park is a 160-acre at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains, managed by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. For over a decade, yoga classes have been taking place everyday of the week in the park. For a nominal fee, you can get your downward-dog on and stretch with roughly 50 other yogis. Although there’s no set fee, you can simply donate whatever your budget allows. Started in 2000 by a group www.firegroove.com, the sessions run 1.5 hours and take place at the south entrance of the park, at the North Fuller Ave. gate, just below Star Trail (medium). Next to the trail, there once stood the original mansion, which was burned to the ground by a canyon fire in 1972. I think it’s time for this blogger to buy a yoga mat and join in the fun. Below is the schedule with the corresponding  instructors.
